The West Bottoms of Kansas City has quite a lengthy history dating back the early 19th century. Each building tells a tale about the arrival of various commerce and trade groups. It was the first real marketplace on the Missouri River that helped to develop the beginning of the western immigration and Mexican trade points.

Kansas City Downtown stockyards were thriving in the 1940's and the West Bottoms hit its peak of glory as the biggest american stock yard next to Chicago. World War II had a dramatic affect on the Kansas City West Bottoms. Twenty thousand jobs were cut and military production ceased. The next blow to the marketplace was the flood of 1951, driving businesses out for good, causing the city to lose half of its population.

Rag And Bone Antique Shop is one of KC's finest antiques vintage marketplaces in Downtown Kansas City. We are located on "KC's Vintage Strip" in Kansas City's Historic West Bottoms District at 1412 West 12th Street right off the bridge, an area that is the destination for antiquers, decorators, and bargain shoppers searching for unique, one-of-a-kind items. Every First Friday Weekend of the month, we will hold a sale event stocked with antique inventory from numerous quality dealers offering vintage furniture, architectural salvage, antiques, mid-century modern, and re-purposed industrial reclamations. Come join in the treasure hunt in our shop where there is something for everyone in the family!
